What Researchers Did
Researchers reported on a 13-year-old boy with prolonged right testicular ischaemia who received hyperbaric oxygen treatment after surgery.
What They Found
Following 10 hyperbaric oxygen treatments over 8 days, the 13-year-old boy showed restoration of blood flow on colour Doppler and reduced oedema. At four-month follow-up, ultrasonography revealed the testis appeared normal.
Canadian Relevance
This study has no direct Canadian connection as it was conducted elsewhere.
Study Limitations
The primary limitation of this study is that it is a single case report, which limits the generalizability of the findings.
