What Researchers Did
Researchers analyzed the effect of hyperbaric oxygenation on intracranial pressure in 21 mechanically ventilated patients with intracranial hemorrhages.
What They Found
Hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) led to an increase in intracranial pressure (ICP) in 31.3% of sessions, while ICP remained stable in 54.2% and decreased in 14.5% of sessions. An ICP increase correlated with a mean blood pressure growth of 11% or more, indicating intracranial hypertension.

Study Limitations
A limitation of this study is the relatively small sample size of 21 patients, which may limit the generalizability of the findings.
