What Researchers Did
Researchers presented a case report detailing severe glans penis ischaemia in a young man following circumcision.
What They Found
The patient developed brownish discoloration and oedema of the glans penis 24 hours after circumcision, which progressed to a black, necrotic appearance by 5 days post-procedure. He received antibiotic, antiplatelet, corticosteroid, and hyperbaric therapy, achieving a complete recovery.
Canadian Relevance
This study has no direct Canadian connection as it is a single case report from Italy.
Study Limitations
As a single case report, the findings of this study cannot be generalized to a broader patient population.
