What Researchers Did
Researchers investigated the effects of a high-intensity physiotherapy rehabilitation program combined with hyperbaric oxygen therapy on a 65-year-old male patient with diving-related spinal cord decompression sickness.
What They Found
A 65-year-old male patient with acute incomplete T4 spinal cord injury due to decompression sickness received a physiotherapy program six times weekly for 3 months, then four times weekly for another 3 months, alongside hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Clinically important improvements were observed in his muscle strength, sensation, balance ability, and ambulation parameters.
