What Researchers Did
Researchers studied the effects of hyperbaric oxygenation, oxygen, or carbon dioxide exposure on promyelocytic leukemic HL60 cells for 72 hours.
What They Found
They found that the proliferation rate and viability of HL60 cells were significantly lower (p < 0.05) in the hyperbaric oxygenation groups compared to controls. Hyperbaric treatment led to decreased expression of CD13 and CD38, increased expression of CD11b, CD14, and CD16, while CD10, CD15, and HLADR remained unchanged.

Study Limitations
A limitation of this study is that it was conducted on a single cell line in vitro, which may not fully reflect the complex biological environment in living organisms.
